Prof. Niranjan did his BE in Electronics and Communication from National Institute of Engineering Mysore in the year 1986 and M.Tech in Computer Science and Engineering from MIT, Manipal.He acquired his Ph.D. in Computer Science and Engineeing from SJ College of Engineering of Mysore University in 2002.

Prof. Niranjan has more than 25 years of teaching experience. He served as Lecturer and then as Reader in the Dept. of Computer Science and Engg. at MIT Manipal from 1987 to 1996, from 1996 to June 2012 he worked at NMAM Institute of Technology Nitte as a Professor in the Computer Science & Engineering Department. From 2003, he was heading the Department of CSE and was Vice Principal of the Institute and from 2010, he was also holding additional charge of Dean(Academics)

The college is affiliated to the Visvesvaraya Technological University, Belgaum and is recognised by the All India Council for technical Education, New Delhi. Institute is accredited by National Assessment & Accreditation Council [NAAC] & all the UG programs are applied for re-accreditation by National Board for Accreditation [NBA]. Institute has applied for re-accreditation for Masters in Business Administration (MBA) program by NBA.
